About Us!

In 1 Samuel chapter 17, David went off to fight Goliath, armed with only a staff in hand, five smooth stones from the stream, and put them in the pouch of his shepherd's bag, with his sling in his hand. With one little stone, it struck Goliath right into his forehead. Today, Jesus still uses the weak to shame the strong and proud. Our challenge is to have David's faith and walk into life's battles not armed with weapons of the world, but with spiritual weapons of faith, hope and prayer. We are just glad to be Lil' Stones for Jesus - aiming to be potent in all that He has planned for us to do! All for His glory and renown!

Dealing with Temptations

Want to share something with everyone.

Today I stumbled upon 2 Timothy 3 where Paul writes in around 60 AD something which is still so relevant and real even today and serves as reminder to us what temptations are out there and that we can fall prey to them.  And that God knows what we have to go through each day.  Paul reminds us to be steadfast in our path towards God by keeping close to the Scriptures.  I cite 2 Timothy 3:1-8 and 16:

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – having a form of godliness but denying its power.  Have nothing to do with them.

They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.
Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth - men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected.
………………………………………………

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”

I believe that as our sinful nature is overtaken by the Holy Spirit each day as we grow in faith through the Scriptures, the fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22), which are the opposite of all those negative traits cited above, will prevail.  Only condition is that we must be willing to invite the Holy Spirit into our life and such willingness is manifested by dedicating time in our busy lives to read and absorb the Scriptures.

Have a blessed day.
